Melbourne’s ‘Mixed Architecture’ EPORO Skyscraper

A new high-rise structure in Melbourne is about to change the most urban city’s skyline in Australia and take the term “mixed-use” architecture to another level. The 44-story Eporo tower, owned by the Coptic Orthodox Church of Australia and designed by the Buchan group, will include 31 residential floors and a 3- storey church and Theological College. Located in the heart of the city the investors are aiming at creating a new landmark. The $90 million structure will be 140 m high and made of two distinguished components; an 11 story “jewel box” podium and a 32-story glass-cad curving tower. The podium forms an architectural pedestal for a ground level shopping and restaurant area, the Coptic Church space and seven levels of residential parking. Each apartment will feature quality finishes, private balconies and stunning views of the city.
