Marvelous Mariel Boston

For a taste of something different in downtown Boston, look no further than MARIEL – the newest hip joint from COJE Management Group.

The restaurant takes its name from Mariel Harbor, the port west of Havana from which 100,000 Cuban emigrants departed on their trek to a better life in the US in 1980.

So many emigrated that the term "Marielito" is used – and we are so taken with the extravagant, Caribbean – inspired surroundings and delicious menu that we may become ‘Mariel-itos’ too!

Mariel pulls flavors and design elements from Cuba, with a menu that incorporates common regional ingredients – dishes with sweet potatoes, sour orange and bijol spices, and delightful libations flavored with artisanal rums and hierbabuena mint – and an atmosphere of faded elegant glamor.

The Lusive team are proud to have work with Focus Lighting NYC to create the huge feature ‘40s Havana’ chandeliers in the soaring ceilings of the main dining room and companion sconces throughout – Larga Vida a Cuba!
