Spreading the Light - Winter 2021

A message from our owner Sally Thomas Cooper:

I was fortunate to meet chef Jose Andres when he spoke about his WORLD CENTRAL KITCHEN project to industry leaders at the NEWH leadership conference 2019.

Ten years ago, Andres envisioned a grass roots organization to provide smart solutions to hunger and poverty.

World Central Kitchen has been first on the ground to serve communities hit by natural disasters - including Haiti, and Puerto Rico - and supporting natural and manmade disasters in America and around the world ever since. Not only do they feed hungry mouths, they employ and train local cooks, chefs, restaurant kitchens and the local supply chain, encouraging learning, empowering communities and strengthening economies.

It’s a life changer to meet someone who radiates passion and turns that into true community building.

The LUSIVE team was proud to give to this cause by selling our own masks with unique hand-stitched decorations by our in-house Lusive shade makers. Additionally, this holiday season, our LUSIVE team organized a charity raffle with all proceeds going to World Central Kitchen to help families in need during these unprecedented times!
